Susan Helmore

Kai ora, I'm susan Helmore

Speech therapist & health coach

I have over 20 years experience working as a Speech Language Therapist in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. I specialise in working with people with communication challenges as a result of a neurological condition.

From my work over the years I realised the importance of brain health and the impact this has on recovery, symptom management and prevention. I trained to become a health and wellbeing coach and have done extra study at postgraduate level at university. I now also specialise in health behaviour change, helping people to live a brain healthy lifestyle.

I am compassionate and kind, an excellent listener and able to create relationships based on trust and authenticity. People I have worked with describe me as a fabulous listener, very motivational, easy to talk to, reflective and non-judgemental, skilled and professional.

I am extremely committed to helping people to improve their communication, and their health behaviour, in order to maximise their skills whatever their diagnosis, and to help them improve their quality of life.
